Court Closures

Court of law

During this uncertain time, the legal system is doing its best to protect the health and well being of our communities, while continuing to represent our clients in an efficient and safe manner. As a result, all Louisiana civil trials, hearings, and court appearances are put on hold until at least March 27, 2020. The courts will consider if further closures are necessary as information becomes available. What does this mean for you, our client?

  • If your trial, hearing or court appearance is postponed, it will be reset at a later date. In some situations, your matter will come before the court vial teleconferencing or videoconferencing.
  • If you require that documents be recorded or filed, those can still be sent to the court via fax.
  • Please see the Louisiana Supreme Court website for additional details: http://www.lasc.org/press_room/press_releases/2020/2020-04.asp
